Antigone – Portrait | Oil on canvas, using Old Masters glazing techniques - open edition print

On this occasion, I made the canvas with a heavily coarser Italian linen and irregular weave -this  presented me with unforeseen challenges. I painted Antigone using the glazing techniques of the Old Masters already described. Antigone also posed over the course of eight days for a group of six painters.

I was not satisfied with the results, and I had to continue painting and … re-painting…  from a photograph until I felt I had achieved the result  I had aimed for.
