Friendship | Oil on Canvas, using Old Masters’ Techniques - open edition print

This painting speaks of a silent dialogue between two spiritual figures and a monkey resting on the sand of life.

The figure on the right radiates unity and compassion, embodying the quiet strength of true friendship: kindness, discretion, courage, and generosity. The figure on the left cradles a clock—a symbol of the emotional weight we carry, and the time needed to nurture and sustain meaningful relationships.  The monkey, our inner mischief, can disrupt beauty through judgment and assumption—yet its calm posture suggests hope: that bonds may still be mended before time runs out.  Shrines rise as vessels of memory—weathered by joy and sorrow—while their cracks speak to hardship and relationships that endure. The multiple layers of paint evoke shared moments: fragile, vibrant, and unforgettable—like the friendships we treasure over time.

This painting was shortlisted at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
